Software Tools

To ensure that the appropriate interfaces for a seamless integration are adopted, exida promotes a tool-based approach that allows to cover almost the entire V-cycle.

In this section the self-developed tools by exida are listed and briefly described.

SILcal is an integrated tool suite to perform all safety analyses required by ISO 26262 / IEC 61508 for the development of a safety critical system and its hardware/ software components.

The Safety Library is composed by a set of software (C) modules implementing Safety Integrity Functions (SIF) also called Safety Mechanisms (SM) to protect the system against systematic and random failures and to ensure the appropriate integrity of the execution environment for Safety Functions (SF) which, ultimately, are there to ensure Safety Goals.

END USER

exSILentia helps users achieve a new level of consistency and productivity in the design of their Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
All-new functionality allows users to follow the entire IEC 61511 / ISA 84 functional safety lifecycle for the first time, using a single tool. It also supports compliance with regulations such as OSHA PSM 1910.119 (USA) and Seveso II (Europe).

exSILentia Cyber helps to streamline communication across an organization and among different departments when performing cyber risk assessments. It provides a standardize approach across all disciplines while aligning cyber security activities with overall corporate risk criteria.

SILAlarm™ is a tool for facilitating and documenting the results of alarm rationalization in a master alarm database. It was developed in accordance with the ISA 18.2 standard “Management of Alarm Systems for the Process Industries” and EEMUA 191.
SILAlarm guides a rationalization team through a systematic, tailorable process of reviewing, justifying, and documenting the design of each alarm.

SILStat™ is exida’s Life Event Recorder tool. It allows you to capture key operational and maintenance data (such as equipment failures, process demands, success or failure of protection layers, proof test results, etc.,) for review and analysis, as required by the IEC 61511 / ISA 84.00.01-2004 standards, and as part of compliance with an OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) Mechanical Integrity Program.
