Autonomous Systems (DE0308)
Functional Safety of Autonomous Systems
This training lays the foundation for understanding Functional Safety for Autonomous Systems, one of the most critical topics for the future of highly automated and intelligent platforms. It focuses on ensuring safety integrity throughout the lifecycle of autonomous systems.
You will gain practical guidance and insights on:
- Understanding and interpreting relevant standards (including key concepts, safety lifecycle, safety goals, SIL determination, etc.)
- Safety Mechanisms and Safety Cases
- Interaction between Functional Safety, AI and Autonomous Functions
- Common Safety Pitfalls and Lessons Learned based on real-world examples from diverse sectors
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, you’ll have the essential know-how to ensure functional safety in autonomous systems. Learn how to set safety goals, assign Safety Integrity Levels (SILs), and navigate the IEC 61508 lifecycle from planning to assessment. Discover how Operational Design Domains (ODDs) shape safety concepts, explore the role of ISO 8800 in future frameworks, and understand the creation of Safety Cases that clearly demonstrate compliance and build trust in your system’s safety.
